Barry Manilow Announces Lung Surgery, Shifts 2026 Tour Dates

Barry Manilow Reschedules Tour Dates After 'Cancerous Spot' Found in Left Lung

Barry Manilow has shared that he will soon undergo surgery to remove a cancerous spot from his lung, a condition discovered following a prolonged bout of illness after his recent Christmas concert run.

The legendary singer revealed that after battling bronchitis for six weeks — followed by a five-week relapse — he decided to visit his doctor for a routine check-up. During that visit, doctors identified a cancerous spot on his left lung that requires surgical removal. Manilow reassured fans that the diagnosis is encouraging, noting that doctors do not believe the cancer has spread and that chemotherapy or radiation will not be necessary.

“The bad news is that now that the Christmas A Gift of Love concerts are over, I’m heading into surgery,” Manilow wrote in an Instagram post. “The doctors don’t think it has spread, and I’m taking tests to confirm that. No chemo. No radiation. Just chicken soup and I Love Lucy reruns.”

Because of the surgery and a short recovery period, Manilow confirmed that several upcoming concerts will be rescheduled. He explained that the follow-up care includes about a month of recovery, which impacts the January arena dates originally planned.

“I’m very sorry to anyone who has to change their plans,” he added. “We were all looking forward to those January shows and hate having to move things around.”

Despite the temporary setback, Manilow remains optimistic and eager to return to the stage. He confirmed that he plans to resume performances at his longtime residency home, the Westgate Las Vegas, for Valentine’s Day weekend concerts scheduled for February 12–14, with additional shows planned throughout 2026.

Ending his message on an upbeat note, Manilow encouraged fans to prioritize their health. “If you have even the slightest symptom — get tested,” he wrote. “I wish you all a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year. I’ll see you at the Westgate Las Vegas for Valentine’s.”
