Axl Rose throws a tantrum onstage in Buenos Aires
Axl Rose threw a tantrum at the start of Guns N’ Roses’ concert in Argentina over the weekend, kicking Isaac Carpenter’s drum kit, throwing his microphone and storming offstage.
Ever since Slash and Duff McKagan rejoined Guns N’ Roses in 2016, Axl Rose has been the epitome of good behaviour, turning up onstage punctually and conducting himself like a true professional.
However, at the very beginning of Guns N’ Roses’ gig at the 50,000 capacity Estadio Tomás Adolfo Ducó in Buenos Aires, something irked Axl that made him lose his temper.
During set-opener ‘Welcome to the Jungle’, Axl scaled the stage stairs and angrily booted Isaac Carpenter’s bass drum with his left foot.

At the conclusion of the song, he launched his microphone in the direction of Carpenter’s drumkit, took off his jacket and stormed off the stage.
Upon his return to the stage, a clearly agitated Axl told the audience: “So, I’ll just try and wing this.”
It’s reported that Axl’s outburst was because he ‘could only hear percussion instruments’ in his earpiece, and the technical issue was fixed by the third song ‘Mr. Brownstone’.
Despite the highly turbulent start, Axl Rose completed the rest of Guns N’ Roses’ sprawling 29-song set in the Argentinian capital without incident.
Guns N’ Roses performed concerts at London Wembley Stadium and Birmingham Villa Park in June as part of their snappily titled Because What You Want & What You Get Are Two Completely Different Things Tour.
They also played a six-song set atBlack Sabbath and Ozzy Osbourne’s Back to the Beginning concertat Villa Park on Saturday 5th July.
