Lewis Capaldi fans convinced he 'called out' Taylor Swift on national TV

LEWIS Capaldi has offered his dad’s fishmonger business to supply as much “fresh fish” as Taylor Swift could want at her wedding.

The Scottish singer was being interviewed by Scott Mills on the BBC Radio 2 presenter’s breakfast program on Monday when he was asked about his connection with the American pop star.

Mills stated that Swift had said in an earlier interview with him that she was looking forward to meeting Capaldi.

However, the singer, best known for tracks like “Someone You Loved” and “Before You Go”, said he knew Swift and had in fact attended her 30th birthday party but had to leave early to fly back to Aberdeen for a show.

“Aberdeen, that’s how much I care about you, I left Taylor Swift’s birthday party to be with you,” Capaldi joked.

Mills then went on to say he hoped the Scot had put himself on the longlist to perform at Swift’s wedding, seeing as he’s met her twice, before joking that he might get an evening invite.

“I would love the evening invite, it’s the best,” Capaldi said as he added: “Please just invite me to the evening bit, Taylor”.

Mills then said: “I’ll tell you, they’re queuing up. Mark Ronson offered himself as a wedding DJ.”

He added: “Also, let’s not forget his stepdad is in Foreigner.

“So he’s off for a Foreigner and Mark Ronson collab. You buy one, you get one free.”

Capaldi replied: “I can’t offer anything like that.”

He added: “My dad is a fishmonger. My dad will supply the fish, Taylor.

Following Capaldi’s comments, Mills can be heard laughing hysterically as he echoed: “As much fresh fish as you want”.

With Capaldi adding: “The freshest fish, by the way.”

It’s not the first time Capaldi has supported his father’s fish business, named KP’s Seafood Specialist, which is located in Bearsden, near Glasgow.

On Instagram in 2020, the popstar told fans that a piece of sea bass or halibut would be the perfect Christmas gift, as he came up with the unofficial slogan of “fish that isnae pish”.

Swift and her fiancé Travis Kelce, are reportedly set for a small wedding ceremony following their engagement in August 2025.

Insiders recently revealed to Radar Online that Swift and Kelce are both looking forward to a “private” celebration that will include “family and just a few friends”, a source reportedly said.

They added: “Taylor and Travis like to go big or go home, but when it comes to their wedding, less is more.”
