Jane Goodall wasn’t afraid to name names when it came to the famous people she wasn’t a fan of.
In fact, the world-renowned primatologist chose to reveal the names of three different well-known figures whom she disliked during a new interview with Netflix that she filmed months before her death.
Goodall died in her sleep from “natural causes” on Oct. 1. She was 91.
Jane Goodall Once Revealed Names of 3 Famous People She Didn’t Like
During the interview that was filmed in March 2025, Goodall was asked by interviewer Brad Falchuk if there was anyone she did not like, to which she replied, “Absolutely.”
“Absolutely, there are people I don’t like,” Goodall admitted, while adding, “I would like to put them on one of [Elon] Musk’s spaceships and send them all off to the planet he’s sure he’s going to discover.”
Falchuk then clarified, “Would [Musk] be one of them?”
“Oh absolutely,” Goodall quickly answered. “He’d be the host.”
“And you can imagine who I’d put on that spaceship,” she added, before revealing that she would also add Donald Trump to the list.
“Along with Musk would be Trump and some of Trump’s real supporters,” she said. “And then I would put [Vladimir] Putin in there, and I would put [president of China] President Xi [Jinping] and I’d certainly put [Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin] Netanyahu in there and his far-right government.”
“Put them all on that spaceship and send them off,” she stated.
Jane Goodall New Her March 2025 Netflix Interview Would Only Be Released After Her Death
According to Netflix’s Tudum website, Goodall “understood” that her interview would only be released after her death.
The interview was filmed under “strict confidentiality” for a Netflix documentary series entitled Famous Last Words. The interview footage was “secretly held” until Goodall died, and had’t even been edited “so that nobody outside the pair would know the contents until now,” according to Tudum.
At the end of their interview, Goodall took a moment to address the camera directly to send a poignant message to be shared with viewers posthumously.
“In the place where I am now, I look back over my life. I look back at the world I’ve left behind. What message do I want to leave?” she said in the video, posted to the Netflix Instagram page on Monday, Oct. 6. “I want to make sure that you all understand that each and every one of you has a role to play.”
“You may not know it, you may not find it, but your life matters, and you are here for a reason,” she continued. “And I just hope that reason will become apparent as you live through your life. I want you to know that, whether or not you find that role that you’re supposed to play, your life does matter, and that every single day you live, you make a difference in the world. And you get to choose the difference that you make.”
Her moving message concluded with the reminder, “You have it in your power to make a difference. Don’t give up. There is a future for you. Do your best while you’re still on this beautiful Planet Earth that I look down upon from where I am now. God bless you all.”
