On April 21, 2025, Gracie McGraw — eldest daughter of country-music icons Tim McGraw and Faith Hill — stepped onto the hallowed stage of Carnegie Hall for her debut performance in New York City.
A Night of Emotion, Music & History
The production, titled The Great War & The Great Gatsby, is part of the series American History Unbound and blends live performance, historical narration, and visual archival material—bringing to life the era of World War I through the lens of The Great Gatsby.
During the event, Gracie delivered a standout rendition of the 1922 ballad My Buddy, one of the evening’s emotionally powerful moments.
Parents in the Audience — Pride on Display
Her superstar parents were in attendance, and their reaction said it all. Faith Hill is reported to have wiped away tears as she watched Gracie perform, while Tim McGraw proudly posted after the show:
“Faith and I went to watch our oldest daughter Gracie perform this show for a PBS special… of course our Gracie was fantastic!!!!!!”
At the curtain call, the proud parents gave Gracie a standing ovation.
Carving Out Her Own Artistic Path
Although Gracie grew up under the immense musical shadow of her parents, her approach is distinct—melding theatrical performance with vocal artistry. She appeared in TV work and stage projects prior to this event.
Her comment after the performance reveals her mindset:
“I used to be terrified that I’d never find my own voice…”
This Carnegie Hall moment appears as both a milestone and a launch-pad for her evolving artistic identity.
What’s Next: Television Special & Beyond
The performance will be broadcast as American Heart in WWI: A Carnegie Hall Tribute on PBS on Tuesday, Nov. 11 2025, at 8 p.m. ET.
Gracie has also announced a more intimate show at Joe’s Pub in New York City on November 10.
A Night to Remember
For Gracie McGraw, this wasn’t simply a performance—it was a statement: stepping confidently into her own spotlight, supported by family, and making her mark on one of the world’s most prestigious stages.
For Tim McGraw and Faith Hill, it was a moment of legacy: celebrating their daughter’s achievement, proud and moved beyond measure.
