Thousands praise Courtney Hadwin for bravely speaking out about the dark side of social media while standing up for a girl her age

Thousands of fans are praising Courtney Hadwin after the America’s Got Talent alum released an emotional video calling out the dark side of social media and defending another young girl her age who was forced to deactivate her accounts due to online hate.

The 20-year-old British singer didn’t hold back, opening her heartfelt message with raw honesty:

“I just wanted to do a quick video and rant a little bit about how messed up the social media world is and how toxic it is.”

Courtney revealed that she felt compelled to speak up after seeing another young girl leave social media because of cyberbullying.

“It’s really starting to piss me off seeing this get so bad that people are having to come away from social media and stop sharing what they love with the world,” she said.

She went on to share her own painful experiences, recalling the harsh treatment she faced after first appearing on America’s Got Talent at just 11 years old.

“An 11-year-old should NOT be getting told she should’ve been aborted on the internet,” she said firmly. “That comment will always and forever live with me.”

Courtney stressed that online cruelty isn’t just “playground bickering” between kids — but often comes from “grown-ass men and women” who should know better.

“If this wasn’t on social media, you wouldn’t walk up to someone’s face and say these things. So why do we think it’s okay to do this online?”

In her plea for empathy, she asked viewers to pause and think before posting:

“Before you comment on a video, please sit there and actually think about what you’re writing. You don’t have a clue what anyone is going through behind that camera.”

She also highlighted how serious cyberbullying can become.

“People have actually taken their lives because of cyberbullying, and it just doesn’t seem to drill into people’s heads,” she said. “Those messed up comments could easily trigger someone — and you’d be responsible for that.”

Courtney ended her message with a reminder filled with compassion and hope:

“Just remember, we’re all uniquely different, perfect, and beautiful in our own ways. Let’s try to share more love instead of bringing each other down.”

The powerful video quickly went viral, earning thousands of supportive comments from fans and fellow artists alike.

Many praised her courage:

“Not to mention you look good too, hunny. I know your parents are proud.”

“It goes back to what I learned as a kid — if you can’t say anything good, don’t say anything at all.”

“You’re absolutely amazing. Keep your head high.”

“Courtney, thank you for standing up for people who can’t.”

“Well said. Social media companies have failed creators like you. They need to clean up the mess.”

Of course, a few negative remarks still appeared — a painful reminder of the issue she was addressing — but the overwhelming response was one of love, empathy, and admiration.

As one user perfectly summed up:

“Courtney, it’s not a rant — you’re speaking the truth.”

Her courage to confront the toxicity head-on has reminded fans everywhere that kindness online isn’t complicated — it’s a choice.
